Corey Parchman: 5 Reasons I Got Into Real Estate

When I look back on my journey, real estate wasn’t just a career move—it was a calling. It gave me the opportunity to combine purpose, vision, and business into one path. Here are five reasons I chose real estate, and why it continues to drive me every day.

1. Helping People Find Housing

At the heart of real estate is one simple truth: people need homes. Safe, affordable, and quality housing is the foundation for everything else in life—family stability, education, health, and success. Being able to provide that, especially in communities where options are limited, is one of my greatest motivators. For me, building homes means building hope.

2. Creating Employment Opportunities

Every project I take on creates jobs—from construction crews to property managers, from architects to landscapers. Real estate is a multiplier; it doesn’t just benefit the tenant or the investor, it supports the entire local economy. What excites me most is knowing that through my developments, I’m helping provide steady work and careers for people who want to provide for their families.

3. Seeing a Vision Through, Start to Finish

There’s something powerful about taking an idea on paper and turning it into a reality. From scouting the land to breaking ground to handing over the keys, I get to experience the full arc of creation. Watching a project go from dirt lots to thriving communities is proof that vision, persistence, and execution can change landscapes—and lives.

4. Building Stronger Communities

I don’t just want to build units; I want to build neighborhoods people are proud to live in. Real estate gives me the chance to partner with cities, schools, and local organizations to make sure the communities we invest in have more than just homes—they have opportunities. Strong housing leads to stronger communities, and stronger communities build stronger futures.

5. Creating a Lasting Legacy

Beyond profits and projects, my goal is to leave behind a legacy. A legacy of homes where families can grow, of jobs that helped people build their careers, and of communities that were transformed. Real estate allows me to take my passion for people and turn it into something permanent—something my children and their children can point to with pride.

Closing Thoughts

For me, real estate isn’t just about buildings. It’s about helping people with housing, creating employment, and bringing visions to life from beginning to end. Every project is a chance to make an impact—and that’s why I do what I do.
