Corey Parchman: 5 Things I Learned From Being Live on CBS Mornings

On July 2nd, I had the privilege of joining CBS Mornings to share my story and talk about The IVF Playbook for Men. Sitting under those studio lights, knowing millions of people were watching, was an unforgettable experience. But beyond the nerves and excitement, I walked away with lessons that will stick with me far longer than the broadcast itself.

Here are the five biggest things I learned from being live on national television:

1. Preparation Brings Peace

Walking into the studio, I realized the preparation I had put in—knowing my talking points, practicing my story, and centering on my “why”—gave me calmness. The more prepared you are, the less space there is for nerves. It’s the same in business, parenting, or sports: preparation sets the stage for confidence.

2. Authenticity Connects Stronger Than Perfection

In the moment, I wasn’t worried about being flawless—I focused on being real. Viewers don’t remember if every word comes out perfectly; they remember the passion and honesty behind what you say. My story wasn’t about being polished; it was about being human.

3. Timing Is Everything

Live TV moves fast. Answers that feel long in normal conversation are too long for television. I had to condense complex thoughts into a few sentences that were powerful and clear. It reminded me that in every part of life, from business pitches to personal conversations, respecting time and getting to the point matters.

4. Your Support System Matters

Behind me on that set were my wife, my family, my team, and countless people who encouraged me before I walked into the studio. That support gave me strength. Success is rarely a solo effort—it’s built on the people who stand with you and cheer you on.

5. The Message Is Bigger Than Me

What hit me the hardest was realizing this platform wasn’t just about Corey Parchman—it was about giving a voice to men navigating IVF, about showing fathers they’re not alone, and about starting conversations that matter. When your mission is bigger than your moment, the impact goes far beyond the spotlight.

Being live on CBS Mornings was a milestone in my journey, but more than that, it was a reminder that opportunities come when you stay ready, stay authentic, and stay true to your purpose. I’ll carry these lessons forward into every boardroom, every stage, and every conversation.
